Fort Worth Birthing & Wellness Center
I recently had the pleasure of touring Fort Worth Birthing & Wellness Center located near downtown Fort Worth, just a short distance from Harris Methodist Hospital. From the moment I walked through the door, everyone was so kind and welcoming! Children are welcomed with a play area of toys to occupy themselves at your visit. The waiting area really does feel like a living space in a home, rather than a medical office.
There’s a big staircase that would be amazing for laboring and getting those asymmetrical pelvic movements to labor-down. The staircase opens up to birthing suites that could best be described as apartments. The birthing suites each have a full kitchen, a large bedroom space, a full bathroom with a shower, and then another bathroom with a large tub. The birthing suites feel so homey and comfortable. A free-standing birth center wasn’t an option for me when I birthed my babies as there wasn’t one local to me at the time, but I would have absolutely chosen this for myself would that have been an option.
I cannot say enough good things about the center or about everyone at both The Fort Worth Birthing and Wellness Center or Midwife + Co. As a doula, I haven’t always felt welcomed by the birthing team. Sometimes it feels like you have to walk on eggshells and not step on any toes in a hospital setting. The complete opposite was true here. All of the staff, the midwives, everyone — amazing. They were all so warm, welcoming, and lovely. So, would I birth there? Absolutely.
TL;DR - Fort Worth Birthing & Wellness Center & Midwife + Co. are a 10/10
